PHOTO AUCTION INFO

Hello Photo members,

Our field trip to Webster's Falls was a great success. Thanks to those who turned out ( a good number of people) and for those who helped out with rides!

There appears to be many of you intersted in the photo auction that is coming up quite fast. Once you have gone to the website (which is posted on the previous blog post) and printed off a submission form, you can contact the person who is helping run this auction.

Remember, there is a donation fee, so you'll have to arrange with her a time and place to meet in order to give her your money. Please read more below for more information:

Smriti.Nayan@learnlink.mcmaster.ca

It would be best to have the photos to her by Sept 21, Smriti has to enlarge them to
10X13- they can be submitted in electronic form also by emailing them to iwchphotoauction@gmail.com.

The photographs can depict anything except perhaps one's family members or yourself as these are being auctioned off for others to take. The first submission is $5 and every subsequent submission is $3. Again, all of this money is going to a local women's shelter on the mountain.

If you can open this, you will see the poster that they have designed for the auction:

Please contact Smriti as soon as possible, she is hoping we can help her out with our photographs!

Please note:
If you're interested in this auction, email us and we'll give you the email address to contact the people/program organizing the auction, this is run by a different organization than us on campus

MPA Exec

The International Women's and Children's Conference will be held on September 28!

There will be a photo auction held during the conference so please submit any photographs from your International volunteer work/elective, local ones, or other artistic work if you'd like.

Anyone is eligible to compete so please pass this on to your friends too! All the money raised will go to a local organization in Hamilton and the winning photograph will be featured in The Canadian Medical Association Journal.

More information will be available on the IWCH website : www.iwch.org. Please find the submission form for the photo auction attached. If you would like to meet me somewhere on campus to give me your submission than we can arrange for that as well

A few clarifications -

- all the money raised will be going to a local women's shelter up on the mountain.

- submitting one photograph will be a donation of $5, every subsequent photograph will be for a donation of $3

- the photographs do not have to be medically related - they can be of anything.

- when sending the photograph electronically, please clarify where we can arrange to meet so that I can pick up the donation or indicate that you have sent a cheque to the address provided in the submission form.

Thanks so much and I look forward to seeing all of your submissions!

Welcome to McMaster's Photography Association

Hello Photography members,

This is our new website that you can continually check in order to keep updated with dates for workshops, field trips and events.

Our first field trip is going to be:

When: Saturday, Sept 15th (This Saturday!)
Where: We'll be meeting in front of the McMaster Art Gallery @ 11 am
(if you don't know where that is, email us and we'll give you specific directions to it, or just check online at McMaster's website, they have a map of the entire university)

Once we all meet at the art gallery together, we'll be going to Webster's Falls in Dundas. We need to meet together at the art gallery, as many students do not have their own car, and it would be greatly beneficial if we all carpooled together.

If you can't make this trip, no worries, we have monthly field trips to go on.

Please email us at mpaemail@hotmail.com to let us know if you have a car and how many ppl you can seat.

Thanks for your help, and we're looking forward to seeing you THIS Saturday at 11 am in front of the Art Gallery on campus.
